European Union: Call for Proposals for Empowering Timorese Women [EuropeAid/168154/DD/ACT/TL]

The specific objective(s) of this call for proposals are:
a) Promote women’s integration and their social and economic inclusion;
b) Strengthen the capacity of Timorese CSOs, which are working with women economic empowerment, to perform their roles as independent development actors more effectively.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Lead applicant(s) - in order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must be:
a) be a legal person and
b) non-profit-making and
c) a civil society organisation (CSO) and its associations and
d) established in a Member State of the European Union or one of the eligible countries under the Development Cooperation Instrument;
e) directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary;
f) act with co-applicant(s) as specified hereafter.
NOTE: Lead Applicants not established in Timor-Leste must act together with at least one co-applicant being a CSO established in Timor-Leste.

2) Co-applicant(s) must:
a) participate in designing and implementing the action, and the costs they incur are eligible in the same way as those incurred by the lead applicant;
b) satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to the lead applicant himself;
c) sign the mandate of the grant application form.
NOTE: If awarded the grant contract, the co-applicant(s) (if any) will become beneficiary(ies) in the action (together with the coordinator).

3) The lead applicant and its co-applicant(s) may act with affiliated entity(ies).

Funding Information - any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts: minimum amount: EUR 500 000.00 - maximum amount: EUR 1 000 000.00.

Duration - the initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 48 months.

Location - actions must take place in Timor-Leste.

The priority of this call for proposals is to support civil society organizations to promote women’s social and economic inclusion.

The actions to be financed must focus on activities that promote women’s social inclusion and that promote their economic rights in order to facilitate women’s access to economic development through relevant activities for the Timorese context.
