L’Oréal Paris: Fifth Annual Canadian Women of Worth Award

Women of Worth honours extraordinary women who selflessly volunteer their time to serve their communities.

There are 10 Honorees chosen from among all the eligible nominations received.

L’Oréal Paris will make a $10,000 donation on behalf of each Honoree to the charitable organization she champions.

Additionally, all Honorees will receive an all-expense paid trip for two to Toronto ($2,000 maximum of travel and hotel accommodation) to be recognized at the Awards Gala on March 8th, 2021.

One Honoree will be selected as the National Honoree and awarded an additional $10,000 grant for a total of $20,000 to support her organization.

All Honorees will receive national recognition for her cause and volunteer efforts.

Do you know a Canadian woman who passionately volunteers her time and energy to help people in her community?

Recognize her dedication with a 2021 Women of Worth nomination.

Eligibility:
1) Award nominees must be women, legal residents of Canada, consent to be nominated and 18 years of age or older at the time of nomination;
2) The nominee’s volunteer activities must have occurred in Canada and have primarily benefited domestic Canadian needs;
3) All volunteer activities of the Nominee must be unpaid and cannot include court-ordered community service, however, nominees who receive a nominal stipend for their service (such as in connection with a national service program) may be eligible;
4) To be eligible, the volunteer activity should have lasted for at least six uninterrupted months and should be ongoing.

Nomination deadline: 5th January 2021.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and attests usually required by calls such this one);
3. Write (baby steps...) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your proposal/project. Start now!!!
5. Don't forget to visit regularly the World Pulse website and:
a) Go to Menu (left upper corner);
b) Click on Explore Topics OR Explore Regions;
c) Type the name of your country in the Search space;
d) Then search for offers that may suit you;
6. Share the opportunities that do not apply to you but can interest others;
7. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests. Yes, tell these stories too... They will enlighten and inspire your network.
