General Grants Program to improve Social and Economic Outcomes in Australia

The Connellan Airways Trust has announced the General Grants Program to improve social and economic outcomes for people in Outback Australia.

Along with eligibility, partial consideration is given to the following for prospective recipients:
a) Advancement of education, health and wellbeing for an individual or those supported through an organisation.
b) Extension of skills and services in Outback Australia with the intention to remain, return, or assist residents of such places.
c) Innovation and passion projects that will directly impact people in communities of Outback Australia.
d) Financial assistance as required.
e) Other outcomes which may not be covered by the above.

Utilize This Offer

General grants can be used to fund a diverse range of activities. Specific projects, travel costs, education and skill building, technology (communications), community experiences, and a range of other options that align with the vision of the Trust.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Individuals
Grants are available to:
a) people who reside in Outback Australia. Ie. People living and working on stations or in small isolated, rural and remote towns;
b) Residents of the outer remote and regional centres of Australia who provide assistance to those described above;
c) Australian Citizens and permanent residents of Australia.
2. Organisations
Grants are available to:
a) organisations supporting people who reside in Outback Australia. Ie. people living and working on stations or in small isolated, rural and remote towns;
b) Small to medium organisations as defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

Applications for general grants are usually considered four times a year.
Applications are to be received by the Executive Officer by the 15th of February, May, August and November each year.

The Trust’s decision will be notified to applicants by the end of March, June, September and December each year.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you, in order to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and attests usually required by calls such this one);
3. Write - baby steps... - and discuss a project draft, to validate within your group the priorities of the project and to train your grant writing skills as well;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your proposal/project. Start now!!!
5. Do visit regularly the World Pulse website to make customized searches for grant opportunities. How?
a) Click on the Menu (left upper corner);
b) Type the name of your country in the search area (blank space); click enter;
c) Click on Filters;
d) Click on Resource;
e) Browse the results (opportunities) that will show up, by chronological order of posting;
6. Share the opportunities that do not apply to you but can interest others;
7. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests. Yes, tell these stories too... They will enlighten and inspire your network;
