Education/Experience/Language requirements:

a. Education
> Advanced University degree (Masters or equivalent) in monitoring and evaluation, social work, social sciences, gender, international development, public management and administration or other relevant related fields is required.
> A first-level degree combined with two additional years of work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

b. Work Experience
> Five years of experience in any of the following areas (including a combination): prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, gender, gender based violence, sexual harassment, protection or workplace conduct is required
> Previous experience in providing technical support to UN or other development agencies on PSEA, GBV, protection or workplace conduct is required.
> Experience in developing and facilitating training and capacity-building activities is required.
> Understanding of the international development and humanitarian architecture is required.
> Experience of working and/or cooperating with multiple development partners, including multilateral institutions would be an asset.
> Previous involvement with and knowledge of the UN system, government, international Non-Governmental Organizations and/or Civil Society Organizations is preferable.
> Familiarity with data protection and confidentiality measures is an advantage
> Computer literacy is required. Experience with google platform and tools (google docs, sheets etc.) is an advantage

c. Language
> Fluency in English is required.
> Fluency or advanced knowledge of Arabic is preferable.

The Gender Equality Specialist - Gender Based Violence responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the Gender Equality Officer - Gender Based Violence in implementing the Amman Hub PSEA action plan for 2021 and beyond;
2. Supporting the Gender Equality Officer - Gender Based Violence in the elaboration of PSEA risk assessments for the countries of operation of the Hub (Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Djibouti, Lebanon);
3. Supporting the Gender Equality Officer - Gender Based Violence in the training of UNOPS contractor / implementing partner staff and raise awareness of end beneficiaries (communities) on PSEA.
