The Embassy of Japan in Yaounde is seeking applications for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

The Embassy of Japan provides a non-refundable financial assistance named Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) to organized groups in order to help them carry out projects at grassroots level.

Founded in 1993, this grant has contributed to the development and improvement of the livelihoods of less privileged people.

Utilize This Offer

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Local and International NGOs;
2. Professional, health, or educational training centers;
3. CIGs (Common Initiative Groups), CBOs (Community Based Organizations) and local development committees;
4. Educational or health institutes;
5. Local authorities.

Non-profit organizations are eligible except central governments or UN organizations.

Eligible Projects:
a) Project for construction, rehabilitation, equipment;
b) Projects for Socio-economic development, in Education (schools), Health (hospitals), professional training (vocational training centres), transport (small bridges), Water (wells, water supply), economic (small industry for local income), agriculture (strage magazine);
c) Projects for improvement of livelihoods at grassroots level;
d) Projects in favor of the less privileged;
e) Projects that can be implemented within 12 months maximum.

The maximum amount of the grant is about 50,000,000 FCFA for each project.

Application guide and form are available in English and French.

Application deadline in 2021: 31st March.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you, in order to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and attests usually required by calls such this one);
3. Write - baby steps... - and discuss a project draft, to validate within your group the priorities of the proposal(s) and to train your grant writing skills as well;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your proposal / project. Start now!!!
5. Do visit regularly the World Pulse website to make customized searches for grant opportunities. How?
a) Click on the Menu (left upper corner);
b) Type the name of your country in the search area (blank space); click enter;
c) Click on Filters;
d) Click on Resource;
e) Browse the results (opportunities) that will show up, by chronological order of posting;
6. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests. Yes, tell these stories too... They will enlighten and inspire your network;
7. Share the opportunities that do not apply to you but can interest others;
