Australia: Boosting Female Founders Initiative (Round 2)

The Commonwealth of Australia has announced the 2nd Round of Boosting Female Founders Initiative to help female entrepreneurs overcome the disadvantages faced in getting access to finance and support to grow their startups.

The program will provide targeted support on a co-contribution basis to female founders of startup businesses (startups) to scale into domestic and global markets.

The program will also provide expert mentoring and advice to meritorious applicants.

The objectives of the program are:
a) stimulate private sector investments into innovative startups led by women;
b) help women entrepreneurs overcome the disadvantages faced in getting access to finance and support to grow their startups;
c) enable female founders to scale-up, expand into domestic and global markets, and become self-sufficient;
d) boost the economy through increasing the diversity of startup founders.

Utilize This Offer

To be eligible you must:
1. be a female founded (majority owned and led by women) startup;
2. have an Australian Business Number (ABN); and
3. be one of the following entities:
a) an entity incorporated in Australia;
b) a partnership;
c) a sole trader.

Grants range between $25,000 and $480,000 for female founded startups to expand into domestic and global markets.

The grants will be available on a co-contribution basis.

The maximum project period is 24 months.

Your must complete your project by 30 April 2024.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you, in order to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and attests usually required by calls such this one);
3. Write - baby steps... - and discuss a project draft, to validate within your group the priorities of the proposal(s) and to train your grant writing skills as well;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your proposal / project. Start now!!!
5. Do visit regularly the World Pulse website to make customized searches for grant opportunities. How?
a) Click on the Menu (left upper corner);
b) Type the name of your country in the search area (blank space); click enter;
c) Click on Filters;
d) Click on Resource;
e) Browse the results (opportunities) that will show up, by chronological order of posting;
6. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests. Yes, tell these stories too... They will enlighten and inspire your network;
7. Share the opportunities that do not apply to you but can interest others;
