Global Feminist Pitch: Feminist resilience and resistance on social media - Call for Applications

The circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic have disrupted the striving of women and LGBTIQ+ activists worldwide. The Global Feminist Pitch will give eight feminists the opportunity to implement their project ideas on the theme of "Feminist Resilience and Resistance on Social Mediaā€¯.

The feminists will have five months to create a platform on social media channels of their choice and connect, show solidarity and mobilize (with) other feminists.

The feminists will take up the specific challenges, contexts and experiences of their own generation in the COVID-19 pandemic, integrate them into a global debate and make them visible - through podcasts, videos, blogs, or other forms of content on social media channels.

Utilize This Offer

1. You are between 18 and 28 years old;
2. You come from the Global East and South;
3. You have a good command of English language;
4. You have a good command of social media;
5. You have a feminist background and want to contribute to gender justice.

Eight feminists from the Global East and South with the best project proposals, budget and introductions will be selected to participate in the Global Feminist Pitch. The eight feminists will receive:
a) the agreed honorarium as a compensation for the implementation of their project ideas;
b) the assistance of the Global Unit for Feminism and Gender Democracy;
c) the possibility to give a presentation about their project by the end of the project period;
d) the possibility to participate in an online workshop;
e) the possibility to continue their projects independently.

The submission deadline is midnight CET on May 15, 2021.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you, in order to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and attests usually required by calls such this one);
3. Write - baby steps... - and discuss a project draft, to validate within your group the priorities of the proposal(s) and to train your grant writing skills as well;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your proposal / project. Start now!!!
5. Do visit regularly the World Pulse website to make customized searches for grant opportunities. How?
a) Click on the Menu (left upper corner);
b) Type the name of your country in the search area (blank space); click enter;
c) Click on Filters;
d) Click on Resource;
e) Browse the results (opportunities) that will show up, by chronological order of posting;
6. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests. Yes, tell these stories too... They will enlighten and inspire your network;
7. Share the opportunities that do not apply to you but can interest others;
