An Ode to my Mentor and Hero

As I write this, tears well up as usual,

To the first and only one to show me what it means to love,

He bound my siblings so strongly with the cord,

And now, everyone finds it impossible to unravel the bond.

How do I ever say thank you...,

It was him God gave us to shower, I mean shower,

With the good things of life,

And when I complained that everyone cheated me for being so small...

He said "Emi', you must get to the top without a brawl"!

Mum has still not gotten over his passing on,

How can she, when she had the greatest gem of a man,

Not a day goes by, we all wish he were here,

To enjoy the fruits, for which he laboured without a fare.

Thumbs up!... Chest out!.... Attention!!!

Salute the world's greatest dad,

A sole privilege indeed, to be his "No 1",

He took a grand bow, gave us a sound blow, many years ago,

But, praise the Lord, his legacies wax stronger everyday!
