About 13 years dumb poor girl became pregnant. She hasn't spoken any things. She has no speech. Her mother was so poor and live in very small old house. Therefore, her mother wept very much. Her society didn't help her and scolded her very much, nobody find out who is raper. Finally, her mother came with me for requesting supporting her. Then I went to Police office, but they were also refused to take that case and said not take seriously this case because she is dumb. Even I went to Army office but they also didn't take that case seriously and they started to laughing.
And nobody would like to take responsibility. Then I went to many religious institution and leaders about her case. But great religious leaders also scolded me why I took that case. Wherever I went nobody would like to find out real raper. In our society father is necessary after giving birth of any child. For giving name of that Child father should be there.
Therefore, when that girl gave birth son, then that grandmother became so worry unable to find out real father . Therefore, I suggested to keep broom grass as his father then start give name. Finally, we put broom grass as child father and ritual started then we put his name Sun.
Now a days every body call that babdy ''You are son of the Broom Grass''

Here if a girl who got pregnant whether she knows the Father or she doesn't know, or she tells it or not, the baby has a right to be given a name and to be born with or without a Father's presence.

That woman is dumb and not speak sothat she didn't say anything. She could not speak by her birth. Therfore, she didn't say anythings about that father. In Nepali culture father is must nescessary for citizenship too. It is very difficult to get citizenship without father. But now slowly our law has been changing. Therefore, in the future that boy will get citizenship from mother. But in the past it was so difficult.

What a disabled society ! When I work for disability, I feel that those having physical disabilities are not any obstacle for our society. The main disability of our society are bad attitude & heinous activities of those who are doing all of crimes in our societies having sound physical condition.Let's go ahead to break the barrier of social disabilities . I am saddened that the girl is labeled dumb. Perhaps she has a disability, but she cannot be labeled as such. My son, for example, has developmental delays and cannot speak until now. I don't want to call him dumb, not at all, because he has his share of intelligence that is different from ours.
I'm saddened all the more that this girl you mention has been deprived of justice because of her state. Thank you for rescuing her. You did well, my dear sister. I hope the baby will grow up healthy. I pray for justice to be served.

Yes, dear, I understand what you mean. She can be nonverbal, (like my son), or hearing-impaired, or has a speech apraxia or developmentally delayed. In English, calling someone "dumb" is quite offensive. Thanks for saving her from shame.

Wow! This poor girl. How is she doing now? Thanks for helping her out as much as you could, and thanks for sharing her story. I also am glad to hear that the laws are changing so that the father isn't given rights that he doesn't deserve. Perhaps you aren't aware of the more politically correct, English terms for this poor girl's disability, which would be either "mute" or "deaf." I hope someone teaches her to speak. She already has so many disadvantages. So sad that you, and her plight, were ignored.
Hopefully one day she, too, can share her own story on World Pulse and be empowered.
