I am a civil engineer by profession and I grew up in the village throughout my primary school education (Grade 1-8).
My mother was denied the opportunity to continue with her high school and university education because she was a girl and the father said only boys from his family will be educated; for girls their future only belonged in kitchen and getting husbands.
My growing up in the village opened the reality of this narrative,"a girl's place is in the kitchen". I saw girls who were ahead of me in school finish their grade 8 education and would either get married to become full time house wives or afew who were privileged proceed to do tailoring courses and support their husbands doing these activities. (This happened to girls in our class)
I never wanted to have such a story in life and lucky enough my parents had the same in their minds later.
Years later after high school and college I started Teen Pregnancy Awareness which I'll be able to tell a girl she can do it in life.
To reduce teen marriages, teenage pregnancies and achieve gender and education equality by 50% in 2030
Looking for volunteers who will help us empower this young generation and organizations that can support us financially in partnership
I am available to work with organizations (allover in arrangement) which work with teenagers on Sexual Health and Reproductive Systems
