What I want for my birthday: My first Sickle Cell fund raising campaign.

I recently read a Facebook post by my sister Arrey Echi on some marvelous work her charity did , sharing live saving Folic Acid drugs to persons living with Sickle Cell disease in Cameroon.

I therefore thought I could use my birthday to raise funds that will go to her charity , to support in the exceptional work of one of the most selfless ladies I have ever met.

I wrote a post on Facebook that targets all my huge Facebook network , soliciting their help; asking  each of them to exchange birthday wishes for my approaching 40th birthday for FCFA 2500 which is approximatively 3.90Euros or $4.52  or less, which will be sent to my sister's charity and will be used to buy folic acid for some of Cameroon's poorest Sickle Cell patients.

I have always wished to help my beloved cousin but silver and gold I have not , all I have and which I decided to use  for this campaign is my huge network of friends which I have seen grow in over 20 years of career and 39 years of life. It will be a wonderful birthday gift, a gift from one sister to another, from a warrior to another.

Here is the link to that Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/587061255/posts/10157171139686256/

I hope all those who wish to help will be able to do so. I am inviting anyone who wishes to join to feel free to do so. I am one of those people who believe that little drops of water can make an ocean. Today, I am raising my voice to raise funds to provide live saving folic acid for poor children, families with Sickle Cell in Cameroon, tomorrow, this action may become a continental one and I hope someday it will become a global one.

I have been asking myself, should I share this here or not. But then I thought if I could share my highs and lows with this wonderful sisterhood, then I can share  my pleas.

Thank You.
