Global Shapers Davos Agenda 2021!

Being the representative of Global Shapers Community (#KarachiHub) I have attended the public screening sessions at our own mini Davos organized by Dawood Hercules Group and Engro Group at Karachi School of Business and Leadership.

The #DavosAgenda is a trailblazing mobilization of global leaders to shape the values, policies and partnerships needed in this challenging new milieu. It is essential for leaders from all walks of life to work together virtually for a more inclusive, cohesive and sustainable future as soon as possible in 2021.

The Davos Agenda brings together the world’s prominent academics, politicians, business, youth, and civil society leaders to engage in addressing the upmost pressing issues on the global agenda. The conclusions of the event fed into task forces working on global issues.

Content was split across some key themes that allowed to explore the diverse topics addressed during the meeting. Gender Parity, Tech for Good, Better Business, How to save the planet, Society & Future of work among others.

One of the impact session on Gender Parity was conducted by McKinsey’s managing partner Kevin Sneader where he discussed about what policies, practices, and partnerships are needed to shape an equal future of work for women and accelerate progress towards parity? Women have been particular impacted by Covid-19. "According to the McKinsey’s report statistics show that women make up to 39% of the global force and they have accounted for 54% of total job losses during Covid pandemic and numbers are stagnant."
