Introducing myself and my journal: Discoveries of a Traveller

About Me: I am a lover of education, a student for life. I received aB.A.International Studies with a focus on European Studies from Portland State University, a M.A. Human Rightsfrom Birkbeck University, and am about to begin a M.A. Woman & Child Abuse from London Metropolitan University. During my undergraduate studies I took a course on human trafficking that changed my life. I was oblivious to this global, billion-dollar industry, and to hear it happened in my own city was both mind-blowing and soul-crushing. I knew human rights violations occurred daily around the globe, but modern day slavery was my personal ultimate nightmare, anightmare that isa reality for millions of innocent people. After my first day in the course, I knew that advocating and raising awareness for sex trafficking would be my future, I felt drawn to spending my life doing whatever I could to stop this horrendous crime. No human deserves to have their lifetaken away for the benefit of another person. I am determined to do my part to fight this issue in any way possible.
