I am the co-founder of Centre for Women Empowerment in Technology (CWE-TECH). The organization focuses on: Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, technological empowerment, entrepreneurship and business incubation/social social enterprise for women and girls in Kenya.
From 2013 to 2019 I was a pioneer county chief Officer in the devolved government system in Kenya, in Homa Bay County. I was in charge of Energy and Natural Resources for three years (2013-2016) then in Education and ICT (2016-2019), here I managed a staff of 1,800 persons. I am passionate about women and girls issues. During my tenure in the county I carried out mentorship programs for girls and performed training and sensitization meetings for women on taking advantage of government 30% Procurement rule. I am a board member for Supporters of the Youth (SOY), Patron for Ramula HIV support Group and Kakumu Widows Group. I believes in the change process, to get rid of old traditions so as to take advantage of the present.
I envision a society where women and girls use technology for social, economical, environmental and political empowerment for improved life
If I could get more ICT gadgets like computers
