Is this the river you do your laundry in ?
"Researcher Brene Brown told a story about a village where all the women washed clothes together down by the river. When they all got washing machines, there was a sudden outbreak of depression and no one could figure out why.
It wasn't the washing machines in and of themselves. It was the absence of time spent doing things together. It was the absence of community. "
I believe Facebook groups such as this have become the river we take our laundry too. We share common interests and find friends universe wanted us to find. Not because we are of same religion, school, work or geography. It's because we value the same things. However deep or shallow it may be. We find our fellowship, our tribe , our sisterhood.
. Together we sort and wash matters that matters the most to our heart, soul and spirit.
I hope you all find your river, washing spots and amazing women to wash with.
Wao wao!!!! Sister

I love this comment, sis Edith. World Pulse is that river for me, too. :)
Dear Basudha,
Wow, interesting.. nice analogy. I like the way you wrote with an example. Indeed, this platform has been very motivating to share and care as well as help each other. We will surely enjoy our laundry and river with diverse global sisters. Keep posting and sharing.
best regards,
anjana
Thank you.
Hi Basudha,
It is still a choice! If where you will spend your time and how you will use it purposely.
Nothing compare to a well spent interaction without using gadget during conversation.
There are negative and positive effects.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Yes,but sometimes for women even today we don't have the option of making a choice.
I agree too
Dear SIster]
Very nice sharing
Hello, Basudha,
First of all, I love Brene Brown!Haha.
What an insightful study that was; how depression is triggered due to a lack of community.
I understand what you mean by our "river" is now within Facebook groups now that we are in a more technologically advance era.
I agree with sis Edith though that World Pulse is my river, and I love the connection we are having here. This is where sisters wash laundries together!
Thank you for this wonderful message! Please keep posting.
Thank you Karen.this is a community where we are not judged,as finally all we ever wish for is peace and love
You're welcome, dear. Yes, I agree. I felt accepted here. Hugs!
Have a great day!
Dear Modak,
I can't agree with you less. Splendid summarization there on world pulse. I am 100% sure this was the vision our founder/director Jensine has when she initiated this site.
How inspiring it is to read stories from our sisters here. It's very encouraging. Thanks for sharing and hope you are having a good day.
Regards
Thank you so much.
Thank you for reading
Hi Basudah! Community is a great place, especially the community of world pulse where sisters shear stories and are encouraged to keep on and do more. Its a blessing to have and belong to one.
Thank you so much.yes I feel safe here.
Great thought, Dear Basudha! As all the comments here assert, this is indeed the best community where women of all colors, religion, professions, schools, thoughts and identities can come be with each other. Also, now that you are an Ambassador (congrats once again!), let me also say that the Ambassadors' global group in itself is a great community. I wish you a wonderful time of bonding there! Much love, Stella
Thank you .Yes,when women uphold one another, the world changes .We are the pulse we can ..
Hi Basudha!
Thank you so much for this post! I really feel honored in this platform with all the writings. May this river never gets dry.
This river will never run dry as our belief and fellowship of all our sisters will keep the cycle flowing.
Thank you for reading .
Yaaasss Dear Basudha, I washed clothes in the river when I was growing up. We always looked forward to Saturday mornings to go wash our clothes. WP is a fantastic forum, knitting us all to keep washing our stuff with sisters who care. Thanks, dear for this amazing piece.
Thank you for inspiring .Igrew up.the same way ,and those bonds are still not broken from so far away .
Dear Basudha,
I love the story of what women lost when they lost time together by the river. Like the others I too feel as if this is my river spot where the great discussions, news sharing, love and deep connections are happening and continuing to grow.
Thank you Tam
Thank you so much for sharing this post. And writing it. It is very true, and this is a great River for us in of it self.
Thanks again for posting, looking forward to any more from you.
Hugs,
Jess.
