Last week when I visited a few Muslim areas,I could feel the scare, the unveiled fear in their eyes. But the demon has been unleased ,on whose orders??
When our future is abused and brutalized without asking about their views or thoughts,we are living in horrible times,as finally we are destroying the voice of reason .. My best friend for decades stays in Jamia Nagar ,and I heard the story of her son returning to see a friend brutally assaulted by masked people(update:he lived but has lost his hand) in front of the boys eyes. Will he ever trust a Hindu,or trust even me or love my kids like before ?
Our future generations are draining and destroying themselves .i am absolutely apolitical, but this is more than politics ...this is pure terror unbridled .I am scared, and I am a Hindu by religion ,an SGI Buddhist by faith ,afraid of being caught in a cross fire in the streets with my kids .
I am visiting, to show my kids the true India of love and peace and empathy and acceptability of all religions ,and this is what I am greeted with .
When '84 happened I was too small to realize the unbridled fear in all my Sikh friends and why i lost so many of them. Kalyan Puri ,Geeta colony were distant .But this time ,it's right at my front yard .And my kids are watching .What an I showing them . I believe the common man on both sides are suffering,no food stock , earnings stopped .These paid criminals should be caught immediately
Hello, dear Basudha,
How heartbreaking this is. I don't even know what to say in all the chaos that is happening in the world. It's traumatic to witness a murder for sure. How do we heal from all this pain? Thank you for sharing this.
Oh mine it's a horrible :-( so sorry. I really stand with you #istandwithher
Take care
Lizzy
Thank you so much Lisbeth
I have never completely healed from the brutality I witnessed in Kashmir as a 5year old. These are young adults. There will be very deep scars remaining .
I understand, dear. It's hard to heal when there are present events that trigger past wounds. Ohh, are you originally from Kashmir? I wonder if you already met our sister Sumera, she's based in UAE but is a Kashmiri.
Yes, I could imagine. I hope the crisis in Kashmir and in every part of the world end.
I am an Army girl, and I associate myself as a human and then any regionality. As I love India,so I love South Africa ,the people who held me in my worst times again .
Wow. How brave of you! That’s nice to know about you associating yourself as a human and any regionality.
You’ve been through a lot, and witnessed a lot. Hugs, dear.
Hi Basudha,
I'm so sorry this happened, dear:-( Wow! How long will you be in India? I hope you and your children stay safe, dear.

Am here till January end Jill..No place is safe anymore ..I am talking to many people and so many stories are coming forth. Will keep writing here .
I see:-( Oh, please don't say that.... There's still hope...
Okay, dear....

All we need do is teach the future generation on how to love genuinely. #peaceisseren
Yes,only way out is love and peace .
This is a very complex sitution and sad too as our children end up being raised in the brutality of thought and action. I am so sorry for your pain and loss. I hope one day all this will be history
Yes,I so hope that the children learn to trust each other ,or else the same story of our generation will be repeated .
Dear Basudha,
I am sorry for all your fear and sad experiences. I don't know about the whole story of the incident. So only I can say now is to stay safe and secure.
I think this is all about the security concerns and the authority. For me, terrorism has no religion. It is criminal activities and it must be punished.
Please stay safe and take care of yourself and family.
love and regards,
anjana
Thank you .yes.
Thank you for this story
Yes,am at Delhi and very upset with all that is happening around .Kids preparing for exams are dragged into this ..that is not correct
There r bad people but educational institutions should remain just a place of teaching .
Stay Strong and please don't lost hope
As long as there are kids around,I know everyone has a voice .
Thanks
There's no glory in killing but conflict fail to see it . Stay safe . peace will eventually come. Thanks for sharing.
Till the women are heard clearly ,there will be no peace.Men don't understand reason ,they only know how to suppress .
Hi Basudha,
Thank you for sharing this. So sad to heard your experience. Hope you doing fine.
Take care dear!
Thank you ,for all the love. Tommorrow I'll tell a true story of hope that I witnessed. All is not bad,the little tree of hope has already started blooming .
Dear Basudha,
This is heartbreaking and I am so sorry for what you have seen and are currently witnessing. Thank you for raising the subject of hatred taught along religious lines. You have witnessed so closely and devastatingly what intolerance and belief that only one religion is worthy can cause. Inter-religious discussion and acceptance of different ways that we understand and follow spirituality is so important, crucial to ending this violence.
In sisterhood,
Tam
Thank you Tam.In South Africa,I have been honoured to attend interfaith meetings and I absolutely understand that to attain peace we need it everywhere around the world .
I am so sorry for your suffering, that is so sad. Be brave, I know it is not easy but you have to. In Bosnia we had war, terrible ... Muslim, Christian, Orthodox were all in fight. An in one moment you see that religion is not a cause of hate. It is people who are guilty .. you have a good and bad person everywhere, and trust me bad one did a same thing on all 3 sides. For those people religion is just excuse for violence

Thank you Amra.you are so true.Religiin never tainted my friendships or relations till now..I am worried .
Hi Basudha,
Be careful.... Do not let these things steal your peace.
Thank you Maenn. Our kids are being misled ,that is disturbing me more .
Hello Sis,
This is really sad and may the #ChantForPeace continue to ring out through your region. Keep writing, keep speaking and keep being a light.
Leonora
Hello,
House, this is so tragic and heartbreaking. So traumatic for everyone. Sending you lots of strength, peace, and empathy.
Hugs from Australia,
Jess.
Thank you Jess for your kindness ..
Hello sister
I am very sorry for that.
Please try to stay save dear.
Thank you ! Such an important reminder of our role as peacebuilders, in conflict prevention. In solidarity
My people say when the elephants fight, the grass suffers. This is a true picture of how the politics of a few affect the lives of the majority who just want to go about their lives quietly.
May you and your loved ones and all who are caught in such political quarmire like in my native Cameroon know peace
Thank you Arret Echhi. It is absolutely true. We just wish everything remains normal and our kids stay safe .
Sending love and support to you
Hi sister ... hope yoy doing well!
Often politicians ignore peace for such events for their own sake. But people must be aware of the seriousness of ethnic and religious differences, live in peace, accept each other and manage their differences for peace, development and prosperity.
Thank you for sharing this is very sadly many places around the world live this kind of pain .
I can totally understand you as the times are changing in India. Hope sense prevails and we all get back to the values of inclusive and peaceful state.
There's no glory in war. Such a traumatising experience . Training younger ones about spreading only love will help to avoid future violence.
