#HearMyVoice

Situation 1:Teacher ,he touched my Cookies so much it hurts.

Teacher: Donot share your cookies with anyone, eat all of them .

Situation 2: Mom,I Donot want to go to school alone, please walk with me ..I have a stomachache too ..

Mom: Do you want to live a life like me.YOu have to go to school daily .I have to be early to work and I won't get money if I am late. Be brave.

Situation 2: Please come back home early Mom,I Donot like to stay with the neighbours.

Mom: They give you food, don't they ?.You are helped with your homework too ?Why are you complaining so much .

Situatiin3:Mom,I have eaten too  manys today, but I can't tell you Why ......Mom:That's wonderful to know ,you have others to take care of you .

Does any of these behaviour raise a suspicion in any adults mind?

Do you understand what the child is trying to say? .It doesn't matter if the one is a boy or girl. All over the world, and more so  In South Africa, such behaviour is barely recognised to be caught and punished ,.

Every child in this lockdown needs to know they need not be ashamed ,and adults who faced it in childhood ,and are victims themselves ,need to speak out and tell their stories.

#HearMyVoice

Use this hashtag to join in with your voice, remain anonymous and send out your clips or posts ..Message,email or voicemail, but Donot keep quiet.

Any woman who has faced abuse of a sexual nature in their childhood ,use this hashtag in your status,so that  others   might recognise the magnitude of the problem .

Irrespective of our age,we stand with solidarity with those who have been abused .

Let the government make the List of Paedophiles Public.

Legal Proceedings does not help ,and extends more trauma for the victim .Rather they should go for immediate arbitrations...

Let us share our care ..

The best we can all do.I fel so helpless when I hear this and an anger boils over and hope this positive aspect will be a voice for children .But again for those that don't have access to the internet, and lesser than 5 years. No one is hearingtnem.I am overwhelmed by messages I am receiving already .We are sick and Dead if we don't do anything right now .

Merci de ce partage qui nous rappelle que les enfants doivent être écouter à tout moment par les adultes surtout par leurs parents. L'échange avec les enfants peut les éviter à des violences extérieures.

A bientôt.

Hello Bashuda,

I am so sorry that your child has been exposed to "monsters" in your community. I know that it is very hard on you and your child, and I know that it is very difficult to get justice in Africa for these kinds of offences.

I stand in solidarity with you, and encourage you to talk to your child and make him/her know that you love her very much; that whatever was done to her was not right and that she has nothing to be ashamed of.

I would also encourage you to prepare her to run as fast as she can whenever somebody tries her to get her in a dark corner and to touch her inappropriately.
The men who do such things to children are losers and they get very scared when a brave and courageous child stands up to them and threatens to tell their parents, but I would also caution you to be careful, because some of those pedophiles can physically harm a child who threatens them.

Once again, I am very sorry that your child has experienced such violence, and I applaud you for speaking out. I do hope that you will get a lot support from women and men in your community, because an evil looms there for all children not just yours. All the best to you.
