Are You OK

Are you Ok?

Yes I am .

How can I say otherwise?

I can hear your snide remarks,be it on my clothes or the way I look.

Do you know Why?

Did you Ask ?

No one buys for me ,I am told I am not worth it.

I cannot shout,I lack the confidence to speak out .

I am overburdened by Work,to justify my just being alive .

My feelings are always ridiculed ,even by my best ones.

I stammer ,I carry an invisible burden  I can't speak on .

I feel the need to be acknowledged ,for just being me ,the way I am.

Till then,I am really not OK.

Today is World suicide Prevention day and Thriving Thursday put my thoughts across and I could connect with all my WorldPulse sisters and absolutely understand and acknowledge the way we all were feeling.

This sense of  solidarity made the words so easy to flow .

Hello, Basudha,

Thank you for speaking up! That Thriving Thursday session made a lot of us reflect. I wrote a post, too. Congrats on doing a great job as the Mother of Ceremonies!

Hello Basudha,
Thank you for speaking up. You have in a short few words, draw attention to some of the most underlooked forms of abuse which makes us rather say we are ok when we are not.

Thriving Thursdays have a way of making our thoughts flow.

Warm hugs

Hello Basudha,
Your reflections are sad but true. We often hide who we are either because that person has been devalued before, or because we know that if we present that person, she'll be devalued still, or ignored, or abused. It doesn't mean we don't value disconnectedness, but rather just looking for safe people to connect with.
I'm grateful for WP with you.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts that resonate with us.

I can hear you Basudha. I can hear the sound of your voice as I read this post. I can see the sparkle in your eyes when you enthusiastically talk about your topic. Yes, Thriving Thursday is on top of my list, too. Don't you think we should have a longer Thriving Thursday at least once every other month?
Huggs. See you on Thursday.
