What a training I got today: I am in, full time!

OMG!!!

As the adage goes, “Every disappointment is a blessing.”

After a tiring night thinking of how to get to my little village in meme division, the extension of the rainy season did not allow me go due to heavy down pour that damaged the earth roads. My trip was postponed to an unknown date; when the roads will dry up and become passable again.

Oh! How I wished I will arrive my village today after one year of absence. How my mouth longs for the tasteful traditional meal (snails and plantains).

Given a second thought, could this journey have ended in something bad, given the numerous accidents during this month of festivity?

In this deep thought, my phone rang, Nakinti was calling…”hello, could you please join us at the Regional Delegation of Women’s Empowerment and the family for a workshop on citizen journalism and World Pulse?” she said. When I got there, I realized the disappointment was an appointment.

Sluggishly I joined 5 of them. We had lectures concerning the VOF programme, and World Pulse. And all I could say was Bravo! Jensine Larsen for giving women the privilege to err, the sense of sisterhood, the idea of positivism, and the sense of solutions-oriented stories.

Never did I know I was a citizen journalists if not for the lectures I received today. All in all, whoah to web 2.0. You shall forever remain indebted to me VOF and Jensine Larsen.
