I and My dreams Getting Wings to Fly : Empowered Myself Now Empowering Others

It is easy to Say “Raise Your Voice” when u are in problem, but it is difficult to take a step to talk about the issue you are facing or support the one who needs a Help. Every person in this world likes to read Newspaper and watch Television about the issues happening across the world like Rigid Caste System, Illiteracy, Female Infanticide, Domestic Violence against women, Forced Child Marriage, Dowry System and Women trafficking but there are very few who take the step to talk about the issue and get the resolution and so most of these cases go unreported due to victims being scared to speak out or aren’t aware of what to do in such a scenario.
I was born and bought up in family with loads of financial issue, but I had a dream to grow but financial Challenges kept me aside. The only one person I had to support me was my illiterate Mother who wanted me to educate and hence motivated me & helped me in getting into school by stitching falls in sarees .Today I am working with one of the Best Telecom Industry in a Reputed Postion. But my Journey was not easy Working to Learn and Earn for Family all the way. I had staring eyes during my teenage, they were many who wanted to take an advantage but, guidance of my mother and my dream empowered me. But this did not keep me Back, I used to support underprivileged kids of maids near my house, by giving them free tutions during my collage days so that they can grow, but In 2008 my life changed when a mother of a child whom I used to help in her studies approached me to support her. On Speaking to her I came to know that she was the victim of domestic violence as she was not able to give birth to a Boy, already she had given birth to 9 kids (Girls) out of which only 2 were alive (girls) and rest died due to malnutrition. Also she mentioned that her sister who used to stay with her was abused by her husband but she could not do anything to help her because she could not take action against her husband as he used to take care of her family and was only one single support in her life. That Day I Decided to work out get myself briefed with knowledge and start up a platform to educate the girls and women them. about their rights and Promote Gender Equality & Women Empowerment. During my free time I started spending my free time with various organizations like Rotaract NGOs like Disha,Salaam Balaak Trust,Aangan etc and started working for street people and slums to understand their issues and get solutions for it. Than started a organization “PRAVEENLATA SANSTHAN” investing all my savings with support of my Friends. Than started a initiative name “JAGRITI” in 2012 with an aim to educate adolescent girls, Underprivileged kids & women living in the community to educate them on their rights, Personal Safety & Promote Gender Equality & Women Empowerment. Today Jagriti is one big initiative which is appreciated across the community, Till date +5200 Adolescent Girls are educated on Personal Safety through workshops at Ground level from Government Schools, Private Schools, Slum Areas, Communities and course is delivered through presentation, videos and fun activities using Ditital tools
