My Journey - Digital Empowerment was the Main Pillar of our Success

Where do you come from?

Hi My Name is Bharti Singh Chauhan and I belong from Jaipur the Pink City Rajasthan India. Born and Brought up in a rich family but at the age of 8 a incident changed and all my dreams were shattered. I belong to a community where Cultures and traditions are given more value and importance but still with gods grace i had a support of my mother who was illiterate but had a dream for me to get good education and I did not let her down, even after facing financial challenges at the age of 13 I started taking tutions and continued my studies, but the major issues came as I was growing up and the teenage was the biggest hindreance in my way, when my personal safety became a challenge, One day my mother went to a grocery shop for buying some grocery and told to lend him the groceries, but the shopkeeper in return demanded my mother to send me to his house for a night, My mother faught out for my safety and told me to be strong to fight against the odds.. and I turned out to be strongest with support of my mother. I got education and today I am a successful professional and a committed social worker. But there is a journey behind it, when I was looking for job, I was always interviewed and the rejection reason I faced for more than 28 times in a continuos year was just because I was not digitally trained and was not connected to Computer education. After struggling hard for a year I decided to save some money go to Cyber cafe and learn new chapters of digital Tools and with no time I learns Basics of Computers and at last I got a Job with a Bank taking care of operations, than my path moved on from Media house to Telecom in a Technology Function. Today the biggest challenge in my community is children, girls and women have dreams to connect to digitalization but old traditions and myths stop them to connect just because they are girls not boys as gender equality is the major concern. I am now getting myself connected to Digital empowerement training and will start up a Free Computer learning Centre by this october and connect all the children and women to my centre helping them to connect to digitalization world, hence requesting support those who wish to join in my journey helping me to connect by skype in training me and my beneficiaries starting soon.
