Why I Joined This Group

Avera
Posted July 27, 2016 from Cameroon

I have come across many platforms for women but this one is different. In one instance, I was asked to pay a huge amount to attend an empowerment conference, least talking of the flight ticket, accommodation and feeding. I was asked also to pay to become a community leader.

As I attended the introductory world pulse meeting in Addis Ababa , led by our Africa lead the one and only Yvonne Chi Leina, I just felt that sense of belonging

I joined because it's first and foremost free. You don't have to travel to any where to attend meetings or meet other women. Most importantly, it's very interactive. I have been able to interact with many women whom I would otherwise not have had the opportunity to know. From the comfort of my home or any where/anytime I read articles written by others at the same time, learning about what prevails in other countries/cultures. We share experiences and encourage one another in our individual endeavours.

This platform educates us on the importance of technology and encourages us to use it wisely. I can log in to world pulse on my phone, or iPad and do whatever assignments I have. Isn't it amazing?

But, I must admit, it's addictive; positively.

My wish is for this tribeto grow bigger and more powerful so that our individual and collective efforts will be able to influence policies in our various countries.

I say a big thank you to the founder of world pulse and all who are working very hard to keep it going.

Best regards,

Avera

Dear Avera,

Welcome to this training. It is so wonderful to hear how you connected with  Yvonne Chi Leina in Addis Ababa, and how you experienced the warm welcome to our community and a sense of belonging. I hope you continue to find that feeling throughout your participation in World Pulse. I noticed that you have joined a few of our topical groups, it shows me your multiple interests and how you can bring needed conversations to the groups. Would you like to select one and share with that group what you are looking for to build together?

I'm looking forward to learning more about you.

Sincerely,

Maya

Dear Maya, thank you for the warm welcome to the training. I have really learnt a lot from it. I just completed my training this evening. I couldn't start and complete   with the rest of the group because of internet problems in our region. I will try my best to start and complete with others in the upcoming trainings. You will surely read from me very soon.

Cheers,

Avera

Dear Avera,

I am glad you have finally made it on board and kicked off with your postings. Well done! I am very pleased too that Addis Ababa is now bearing fruits, I am more than impressed. As i said in our first  Ethiopia living room session  launching, some will see the World Pulse vision immediately, some will see it later and some may never see it at all.

I hope that together in Addis Ababa we can continue to grow the world Pulse platform connecting with like minded women across the globe.

Once more welcome on this great platform

Cheers

Dear Avera,

The main step you made was to be part of the Worldpulse community. From now on you should know that everything is possible.

Communication and interaction are the keys to grow and fulfill one's goals. We hope that you will stay an active and dynamic member of our community.

Dear Avera,

Thank you for sharing your motivation for joining World Pulse and your passion for its purpose. Together we can create change and it can have an immense impact! As you share the purpose, ease, and vision of World Pulse with others, you are helping to create positive change. I agree being part of this positive community and helping to create positive empowerment is addicting. May your passion and enthusiasm spread to many more of your peers, particularly to the women and girls starting the new group in Addis Ababa!

Hi, Avera.   It made my heart happy to hear that you met and are friends with Yvonne.  I met her the year she was part of the WorldPulse Live tour and we shared tears together about her experience and her work in Cameroon.

Your passion for joining this platform comes across in your introduction.  I love it!!  Being part of the WorldPulse community has been one of the treasures of my life in these past few years.  The way we share with one another and learn from each other is the power that is changing our world   I look forward to reading more of your pieces.

Thanks, Louise
