My Asset Map

This training has made me to realize the numerous assets I am endowed with. I usually thought of assets in terms of material possessions but, after my training, it's clear how I am richly blessed.

I am an entrepreneur and also into fashion. I run my business from the comfort of my home. I buy and sell clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry. I belong to our Cameroonian Women’s Association in Addis Ababa which is a social support group. We meet once a month to discuss issues affecting our community and its members; we visit and make donations to orphanages, the fistula hospital and other homes for the underprivileged. We also take care of one another’s needs like in times of bereavement, child birth, marriage; we visit with the member and give financial assistance.

With regards to relationships, my family: husband, kids, my mum, sisters and brother, nieces and nephews are my closest friends and confidants.

I also have a small cluster of friends with whom I meet to relax and have fun once in a while. We usually have a girls’ day out.

My best physical space is my place of worship. There, I find true purpose in life, peace, love and lasting joy. We organize women’s breakfast every last Saturday of the month. During this time, we study the bible, pray and discuss about our Creator. We organize potluck lunches about three times a year. This is an occasion which brings us closer as a congregation. We also go out of town on weekends for retreats. These activities are very enriching.

I also cherish my house very much. In a section, I have my little office space where I seat to work. I use the Bethel women’s training centre. This is a centre in the woods (Addis Ababa) where women are trained in weaving, soap and candle making, growing and selling plants/flowers, and pottery. I use the woods for my quiet time.

I speak English language and French.

My parents helped me a lot to grow into the almost fulfilled woman that I am today. They thought me to cook, take care of the home and my personal hygiene at a tender age. They instilled in me the value of sharing and empathy.I also have collaborative, negotiation and listening skills.

I am a professional teacher and teacher trainer, a psychologist, event manager but most importantly, a mum.

My mentor, late Dr. Mrs Tiagha Ann helped bring out the organizational talent in me. Without her, I would never have known that I possessed such skills least talk of working in the United Nations System and other international organizations.

I am the founder and CEO of Green Planet Association. We work to empower widows, orphans and school dropouts to attain their full potentials. We would therefore appreciate both in-kind and in-cash resources to assist these groups attain sustainability through various skills development training and workshops in agriculture, entrepreneurship to name but a few.

The first and second photos are the dresses and shoes I sell and the third photo is the widows Green Planet is mentoring.
