Are you or do you know a 16-24 year old who is interested in engaging in a 10-month advocacy, policy, and grassroots organizing training program? The Youth Advocates for Mentoring Program (YAM) will provide young people with the real life skills they need to communicate with elected officials, address issues in their communities, empower their peers into action, and become leaders.

MENTOR believes that young people must be at the forefront of addressing systemic issues and that through the Youth Advocates for Mentoring program participants will develop personal, professional, and leadership skills through numerous opportunities to learn, collaborate, present, and interact with advocacy professionals, elected officials, grassroots advocates, and other experts. In October 2019 and July 2020 participants will travel to Washington, D.C. with travel, accommodations and meals covered by MENTOR for advocacy and grassroots trainings, cohort bonding, and to meet with elected officials.
