Thank you ICT

After my university degree, l got a job in a reputable company as a secretary/cashier. While there l manually did everything like registration of entries, issuing of receipts etc l knew l was doing very well for myself until my company went bankrupt and shut down. That was when my frustration began because l had to search for a new job.

I submitted applications for more than 2 years without being called in any of the companies. But I never gave up until one day l was called buy a company. I knew my joblessness was over.  Happily, l hurrilly  went there here was what the manager told me" you have a very rich profile, good educational background with high grades, required amount of work experience but we cannot hire you because you have no knowledge in ICT. Imagine how sad l was when l left that office. That was when l understood l was not ripe for the job market. Imagine l wasted 2years already.

Quickly l got myself enrolled in an ICT institution, and after 9months l got the required certificate to match this ever growing Technological increasing world. My knowledge in ICT was not enough but this was a starting point for me to get involved in my things. I can now exploit my phone better, l can now Google search many important informations, l can now send and receive mails, l also submit applications online, l am now a social media activist, own my own blog,l can better manipulate my television screen at home and at times use it as a monitor. Wow this and so more l no longer need to go long distances looking for that male phone Technician or Television manipulator for slight little faults which at times were even caused by ignorance.

Today through the various online applications l was able to submit l now work with a female engineer.. who said engineering is only for males? Today through information Technology my boss is the lone female engineer in my region and just by working with her l am now totally transformed. Our company is highly involved in the motivation of female engineers.  We have won several international and national awards because we choose to be greatly involved in "ICT world"

To my fellow women, the world we live in now, l call it "ICT world" we breath it, we drink it, we are transformed by it. Don't be left out, Don't only wait to be given the opportunity, cease it, be part of it. And you will be amazed by how transformed your life has become. Shalom!!!
