"Oh! The Greed Of My Home Land"

When bullets fly from North to South and children loose their parents in the twinkle of an eye, what future do we look forward to?
The pain of losing a love one in the twinkle of an eye is like leaving with a knife pinned to your back when you try to sleep. Human lives are no longer regarded with love but with a sense of greed. My country is bleeding

Oh Mother Africa! ! Your greatness had made the world a world indeed. Your people and your resources, they are all great and good. The hands of God made them so good. But greed! Oh senseless greed! Has brought injustice and destroyed African Love and peace.

Africa now lives in destruction by its own.. Africa has no peace nor unity.. Africa Fights itself.

How can a place so blessed become so curse over night? How do we enjoy the beauty therein, when all we feel is fear of what tomorrow may bring? How do the youths live upto their potentials when the air around them is sickening?  What happened to the love we once shared?

Greed! Oh greed!!  You have stolen the consciousness of our humanity, You have embedded in us hearts that feel no remorse , You have plated steels of deception in our minds, You've turned fathers against children , brothers against brothers, students against teachers, pastors against Christians and even individuals against themselves.

My heart bleeds when I look around and see a shadow of a nation once blessed.  It bleeds more when I see the untapped potentials of its youthful population go to waste.  It shatters into pieces when I see young promising destinies ebb away at the brake of dawn.

These may just be the words of a young senseless girl, Who as the elders will say "Knows nothing about the History of her nation" I may not have experienced  the past as they have , but isn't that what History classes were there for? Oh! Yes now I remember,  thesame History classes that taught me World History so much so I felt I was from the West. How many Europeans, Americans etc. make African or Cameroon History a whole  subject in schools? Let me leave that there.

Yes I may not know much about the past as the elites do, but I am leaving in the present.  The present I see, is characterised by hate (whether founded or unfounded ). It is full of pain, tears of the innocent and anguish in the hearts of the weak. Oh! How much more pain will our senseless greed birth in our society?

Ignore my words... But don't ignore your truth,  For that will be Greed shooting it's ugly head again.

The Greed of My Home Land breathes havoc which many are blind to. LET THERE BE PEACE!!

Thank you so much Miranda for the encouragement. We all need peace and calm if we want to have a great nation. The storms that rage are too heavy and our families and friends are now dancing to the tune of gun shots. Thank you again for the encouragement

Dear Blessing,
Sometimes I begin to read without first looking at who has written. That happened this time as my eyes were so drawn to the baby in deep distress and I wanted to read immediately. Blessing, these are the words from your heart, so strong, so profound, so wise. I thought, this writer has such a gift of wisdom, the ability to point to exactly what needs to be paid attention to, with a message so badly needed as a step toward healing yes, your country and continent so deeply in distress at this moment, but also for the whole world, for all of us. And yes... "Greed! Oh greed!! You have stolen the consciousness of our humanity". What a wise poet you are. What a wise leader.

With love in sisterhood,
Tam

Oh Wow.
Thank you so much Madame Tam. I am indeed glad in my heart for your words of appreciation and encouragement. Indeed it is with pain that I wrote this little piece. I needed the world to read and be aware of the dangers and pains that greed has plundered my Nation and Continent into. When grey heads chose not to relinquish power due to their selfish gains, young hearts are left to bleed as their youthfulNess can not be put to usefulness.

I love writing but most especially, I love to tell a story as it is. I again, appreciate your kind words. Someday we would overcome this plague in our continent and the world.
Thank you,
Blessing

How I wish your words are not true. Sadly, they are.
My heart continually weep for mother Africa.

But, on another hand, I am happy for our motherland because, women are not just speaking out, women are acting too.

Every nook and cranny of Africa, many organisations and SPIRIT are awakening. They are sprouting, they are being watered. These ones will bloom. This is because When women wake up, miracles happen. I am full of hope that transformation is immiment. We will heal motherland. Together.

Africa is not hopeless. Africa is blessed with human resources filled with milk of kimdness and ready to empower a new generation of humane leaders.

It will not remain like this forever. Lets keep working and believing in our creator. He wont abandon us forever. Mother Africa deserves better. She will rise again. Amen.

Hi my deer sister,
I just saw the news two days ago, this Grandpa Biya, ....
Why is our people wants to die on the chair? They have eaten more than enough, why they kill the youth and children.
We don't want governess(lords), but leaders with good heart, who feels our pain, who can see our dreams, my beautiful Africa, may God shine His face up on you.

have courage,

the bright day is neigh

What more can my dear Blessing say? You said it all, nobody sees anyone, nobody sees only himself. Where will we go with this universal mentality? Let's go back to reason because after all that blinds us today will not make any sense soon. But love, precursor of peace, remains forever.
With all my attachment, I encourage you to remain the voice of the voiceless.

Dear Blessing,
Thank you for sharing this.
Truly, Greed and ego are the two things ruining the country and stuffing off
many promising lives.
Your question on how man Western countries are made to study Africa or Cameroon history begs for answers.
Hope you and your family are keeping safe.

Oh Dear,
I hear always news from your country because I've many Cameroonian friends here.
Sorry for all the things happen, but Africa is not the only one to be blamed. We always accuse our leaders..., but all around the globe people complained about their leaders. For the war, for the migration, for any small or big conflict, there are people who make wealth out of it. War is also business, so...there are beneficiaries...who create the war.

God willing, we will have a chance to see a brighter day.
Have faith in God,
That's our only hope.

so beautifully written for a tragic situation. Blessing, I share your pain for our dear Nation. In tragic times like these I try to see the lessons we can learn to be able to move on.
One key thing that separates us from the villains who commit such atrocious acts is our ability to learn from life’s setbacks. In a somber way, let’s use this pain as a springboard for growth. Let us celebrate the memory of the fallen by living stronger and with more purpose. Let us stand up to the forces of evil and prevail instead of succumb. And let us hold those we love a little closer as we all grieve – and ultimately recover – together.
