I am looking for sponsorship and this is my portfolio.
I createtrendy and affordable up-cycled furniture using materials like pallets and box plastic strapping. The idea is to reuse the stuff that other people see as rubbish and show the public it can still be useful by giving it another life.I was born in Khayelitsha, Cape Town andhave no formal training in art or design, but I feel strongly that art is something I can say I was born with. The realization that I wanted to be an artist came to me while I was still at primary school. AScottish Catholic nun doing community work in the area saw my work and commissioned me to draw Christmas cards for the organisation she was working with. It was a moment of revelation for me; the moment I realized the potential to make a career out of art. My current range consists of chairs and stools and I plan to expand it to include bigger benches and lamps. My pieces have a clean, minimalistic aesthetic.

My name is Bonga Jwambi I live in Cape Town. I'm a furniture designer, I started using jet equipment at the CCDI(Cape Craft and Design Institute). However, they onlyallow you tomake prototypes, which means you can't mass produce. My dream has always been to have my own workshop, but the main obstacle therehas been acquiring my own equipment, which is provingvery difficult. At this stage in my career,I can't afford wood work equipment. That is why I am writing this e-mail to you, asking for your help in anyway thatyou can. Ialso tried to do a public fundraising campaign to raise money tobuy tools and equipment. Unfortunately that didn't work out.
