Occupy Wall Street - A People's movement

People I know ask what is the message of Occupy Wall Street, who's the leader, where's the organization? They look for the common formula they are conditioned to expect. For years and years groups have formed with out-front charismatic or celebrity spokespersons, catchy slogans and logos, money from who-knows-where AND a carefully written list of resolutions, demands or 'action items' directed at some other entity with expectation of response and resolve.

Maybe this group does some research or lobbies, gets some press, has a talking head for the media exposure, but certainly it will be seeking donations for their "important work." It's a formula ingrained in people's minds as how things should be done. A new group pops up everyday and attaches a .com or .org to their name. Nothing changes though.

Movements that HAVE changed the human condition, forced governments and societies to change direction and responded are people based, movements of people who say "enough", "we will not be silent", "we will overcome." They become a presence that can no longer be ignored and with perseverance they do make change.

Occupy Wall Street is such a people's movement. The message is very clear if you listen, better yet lend your voice too.
