Google is taking over the world and an epic online battle is underway!

Hi everyone,

Goldie had asked me to post my thoughts on Google... so here they are.

I would like to begin with two quotes from the Art of War:

“All men can see the tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.”
(The Art of War)

“If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.”
(The Art of War)

I believe these two quotes are extremely relevant to the current tech battles taking place today. More specifically, I feel these quotes speak to the battle unfolding today between Microsoft and the what I like to refer to as the google beast.

Microsoft is well on its way to taking over the household yet they are rapidly losing their long standing grasp on the internet to the well organized, extremely massive, and might I also say \"cool\" google with their widgets, and online tools. I believe that googles long term strategy is to reduce the need to ever leave the internet, to force users to use all things google, replacing the need for things like MS office because they will have it all in the google tool bar.

Google seems to quite the lively place, attracting America's best, Brightest, and youngest workmen/workwomen. I've heard their campus is pretty nifty. In fact, I was recently told that Microsoft is attempting to be hip by adding quite a bit of art work to their campus, the old guard is re-vamping to be hip again. If nothing else, I think this is funny.

So like I said Microsoft is taking the household by storm and Google is conquering the world through the internet. Google is everywhere online and an enormous population of internet users internationally use google for their one stop go to spot. Between, the highly advanced search engine features, their readers, and their email account one cannot help but ask, how? How on earth did this search engine turn into the most versatile tool on the internet and what is its limit or is it limitless with every new evolution on the internet?

Folks I am inclined to say the latter. There is an idea out there that the Social web bubble will explode, here to stay... yes, but explosions don't knock everyone out just a bunch. The explosion is predicted to come when the social web reaches a critical mass of users and sites. As people join more and more networks, their screen-names, profiles, and passwords become a jumble and then they lose interest. The end of days comes as sites scalable and non-scalable deteriorate from within...

Never fear Google's here. The solution is brilliant and Google is on top of it as would be expected. The open social! The idea is to use one's google log-in to access any number of social websites. One password and one name. How easy is that? Right now google is buying up social graph after social graph in hopes of producing an intricate end expansive web of social users and sites... WHoa is all I say the break just are needed in googles case. When this successfully happens and I assure you it will, the majority of sites not associated with the open social, (with the exception of successful sites like facebook and or sites in niches), will not survive. The open social is the social association and it will launch Google to new heights of internet power, devastating Microsoft online and demanding the attention of all who choose to join into the internet. This is my chaos theory.

Cheers,
