Women Inspiration Development Center to continue to empower more women to be free from shadow pandemic of domestic and sexual violence. More were trained on hand made nose mask, liquid soap and tailoring. Some women were given empowerment to establish their small business while some were empowered to strengthen their existing businesses that crumbled during the COVID 19 lock down. This program is ongoing at WIDC as we get fund.

Nigeria has been experiencing a great surge in domestic and sexual violence cases during COVID 19 pandemic. After the activist in the nation demonstrated that enough is enough, the Governors of the 36 states in Nigeria has to declare a state of emergency on Violence against women. It is reducing bit by bit after series of interventions both locally and internationally.

Hello Busayo,
That photo, the women's absorption into the practical learning task speak volumes of the transformation taking form in their lives through their fingers. Good on you and WIDC.
Reduction in cases of domestic violence is encouraging news too. It is good that governing bodies have taken notice and implementing interventions. Thank you for sharing.

Dear Busayo,

Congratulations on setting up the Women Inspiration Development Centre (WIDC), an entity long overdue given the secondary pandemic of domestic and sexual violence against women in the context of COVID-19.

It is extremely encouraging and uplifting to see that State Governors have finally acknowledged that sexual violence against women is an emergency in Nigeria as it in other African countries.

What you are doing is trully transformation. Imagine what would happen if each of these women impact 250 other women and so on!

Keep up the good work. I am very proud of your efforts that are clearly bearing fruit.

More power to you.

Hi Busayo
An awesome job you are doing empowering women after the pandemic.it wasn’t really easy for a lot. I thought with the lockdown it was going to be better but the cases of violence and rape recorded was so alarming. I go so scared and kept wondering WHY . Thanks for all you do dear
