CAEPA Donates Food Items to women affected by the Anglophone crisis in Balikumbat Subdivision

Humanitarian Assistance has been given to some 200 Women and Widows in Balikumbat Subdivision of the Northwest Region by CAEPA.

These reliefs’ materials were distributed to these women and widows other to assist the women who are also heavily affected by the socio-political crisis rocking the region.

These items consist of rice, groundnut oil, soaps and other basic commodities aimed at improving the life of the women in that part of the region.

Speaking after the distribution exercise, the head of the women’s group from Balikumbat Madam Doh Justin says they are privilege to receive such provisions for they have been facing many challenges in feeding their families.

‘’I thank CAEPA for this wonderful gesture which has come to us at a time where we the mothers, are facing difficulties in feeding our families reason being that we  don’t go to our farms any longer due to the deepening Anglophone  crisis in our area’’.

She added that, they are some women who have gone for days here without being able to bath with soap. The humanitarian gesture from CAEPA is described by the women as one which is timely and full of merry making.

Also to one of the beneficiaries, Sandrine, a 25year old lady with three kids was over warmed receiving the items. For to her, it will save her life and that  her kids due to the fact that things have not been very easy to her family after the death of her husband. ’’Since my husband died I have been the only one taking care of my kids. I don’t really have something doing; things are really bad for me. I am so grateful receiving this foodstuff and I thank God for CAEPA’’. she said

The chairperson of the Baligashu traditional council Doh Kwati  who was also present at the distribution ground, expressed satisfaction as he thank CAEPA for coming to save the life of his people. ’’Because of constant exchange of gunshots between the Cameroon Defense forces and the separatist fighters our women are unable to go to the farm to harvest foodstuff their families. I am very delighted to see these women rejoicing happy after receiving these commodities its show how vital there are to them’’. He happily said.
