The Coronavirus has exposed me to a new kind of lifestyle which has been very challenging. As someone who is not very good with technology, working from home has been the greatest challenge, amongst ensuring to remain safe. I had to start learning the job that I have been doing for many years all over again because I needed to learn to use my personal equipment for work-related purposes; although I had the option to return to my office to gather my equipment and make my home office more comfortable, the fear of exposing myself to the virus in the course of doing so took a better part of me, so I preferred manipulating the equipment until I was able to use them comfortably, although not really.
In all, I will be selfish if I was complaining because I am better off than the millions of people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic. Sharing my story is just to let you all know that we can adapt to situations if we put in more effort and focus on the desired outcome. I have struggled through the process of working from home, but I am grateful that the struggle keeps me and others safe(Stay Home, Save Lives). If you can, please lend a helping hand to those facing the worst of this virus, so that together, we can all remain safe.
I so know what you mean, Caroline. I complain and then think, gosh, how dare I complain when I have so much more than others.
My mother is over 80 and has been telling me about when she was a child in Kentucky and had to stay home for almost an entire year because of a polio pandemic. There was no vaccine. She had to stay home, no one went anywhere, except for her father, who had to keep working. School was done via the radio. She said that people then did not complain the way they do now.
Some schools in the USA are being forced to reopen. I have a teacher friend who is in such a district and cannot afford not to work. His school is not providing any PPE. I have sent him masks and face shields. I have another friend who cannot work and I found out he had no food, so I bought him groceries. It is not much, but it is what I can do.
Hi Jayne, I totally agree with your mother; children nowadays (us) complain too much!!! I am so glad that you are extending a helping hand to your friends, and I can guarantee you that no matter how small you may think the help is, it is definitely impactful.
Thank you and keep touching lives.
Well done Sis and thanks for sharing

Hello, Caroline,
This pandemic is a huge period of adjustment for all of us. I’m glad that you see a good perspective about what’s happening. Truly, millions lost their sources of income at these trying times.
You are so resilient, dear. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you too so much for responding Karen
You're welcome, love.
Hi Caroline,
Your post just shows that you are growing. Yes, you are experiencing growing pains (who doesn't?) but growing all the same.....in adjusting to working remotely, in acknowledging your blessings, in valuing others safety and in looking out for those on the margins who have been adversely affected by the pandemic.
You conclude with a reminder of our interdependence, and thus our collective responsibility if we are to defeat the pandemic.
It is a beautiful post. Thank you for sharing
Yes Nini, and I use everyday's challenge as an opprtunity to keep growing. Thank you
