Women's International Film Festival Nigeria (WIFFEN)

In support of my previous initiative, the social impact film project - Girl Nation - I am leading a new initiative, 'The Women's International Film Festival Nigeria (WIFFEN)' to celebrate women filmmakers around the world. The festival is a premiere film festival in my country, and we target female filmmakers around the world and screen women's films during the festival.

WIFFEN will impact people at various levels; an estimated 5000 people are expected to be part of the film festival, including women who make their film submissions to the festival call, women whose films are selected for the festival and those who will screen the films and participate in the festival awards event where select women filmmakers will be celebrated for their outstanding work. The film festival will host seminars, panel discussions, Masterclasses, and other engaging sessions to empower women with information about funding their film projects, collaborating for greater impact, innovative approaches to storytelling, creative opportunities for women in film series production, social impact filmmaking and so much more. The call for film submissions has already received over 3000 films from over 130 countries around the world. The countdown to the Women's International Film Festival Nigeria (WIFFEN) has begun!

WIFFEN will hold on the 4th - 5th March 2022 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria and an estimated 1000 people are expected across the various festival activities. While an estimated 1000 people-reach is expected for the physical engagements, a whopping 100,000 people-reach is anticipated online. Join us!
