COMPUTER COURSE FOR STUDENTS IN RURAL COMMUNITIES AND THE POOR UNEMPLOYED GIRLS

I am a lawyer by profession, a humanitarian by passion, a Gender Base Violence advocate and a change maker by nature. I strive to see that children between the ages of 4 to 18 (Teens girls) are free from GBV. I am the founder and coordinator of Primed Well Foundation based in Jos, Plateau State Nigeria.

What Project are you leading?

Presently, I am leading a Computer course project for students in government schools and for the poor unemployed girls in rural areas. We are providing computer training to 18 teachers and 300 students of government primary and secondary schools and 150 poor girls in 3 years. We will be equipping the target poor children with computer operation techniques to upgrade their skills for higher studies and facilitate employment.

This initiative will strengthen the social and economic condition of people above poverty line. During training session the target student will be provided with practicing task on health and hygiene information. In the same vein, I have been organizing workshops against Rape on both girl and boy child; the boys need to be educated to stop and raise their voices against rape.

We plan to run a mobile computer course with 6 computer sets and 2 teachers. Each year the mobile unit will cover 2 schools and provide training to 2 teachers and 100 students in the rural areas. Children between ages 8 to 17 with Autism spectrum disorder will also be impacted by this work. Our primary focus for the first year will be to visit schools in the rural communities, intensify our grassroots development effort and replicate this across Nigeria.

We need financial support, change makers and volunteers to help the progress of this project.

Through constant publicity and awareness campaign, we have been striving successfully to create more awareness in communities, empower women and children.

I strongly believe in changing the lives of a girl child because when you change the girl child, you change the world and the world will be free from Gender Base Violence. https://web.facebook.com/Primed-Well-Foundation
