About Me:BIOGRAPHY

IKECHI-NWOGU, CHINYERUM GLORIA (MRS) was born 18th April. She is currently an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria where she is undergoing her Ph. D. She has published 6 papers and 4 are presently been reviewed for publication in reputable journals. She is involved in the following activities: Teaching, Identification of Fungi for Undergraduate Researchers and Practicals Coordination. She is also a Member of the following committees in the department: Exams and Records, Laboratory liaison and Student Advisory.

AREAS OF INTEREST

My academic experience is in the field of plant pathology/Mycology. My research is focused on preservation of fungal cultures, plant pathology, developing solidifying agents that are readily available other than Agar-agar gel. It also extends to preserving food from spoilage in our homes using edible medicinal plants that can inhibit or kill the pathogen without harming or releasing toxic substances to the food or the environment.
