Memory Loss and Lapse In Time

My quest for to get more women to understand the happenings in their bodies led to my forming a Whatsaap Teaching Group. Here ,I teach the symptoms one after the other. One one particular day the title was:Memory Loss /Lapse in Time.Ihad gone on and on to tell of how on countless occasions I had gone into the kitchen to grab a drink only to get there and utterly forget what I had come to get. At other times, I may get to the kitchen and suddenly  go blank on why I was there in the first place.

Sometimes,in the middle of a gist I could go blank on my next line of thought. I wasn’t alarmed because I had read about the symptoms this inclusive.

A member of the group got inspired to share her experience s thus; The whole family was set for church, then it struck her that she hadn’t taken her Bible. She had gone in in the hope to get it but it wasn’t there. The whole family began searching for the Bible after a long futile search, they all decide to go to church without her Bible. On entering back into the car, she decides to search her handbag that had been with her all the while. Lo and Behold! There it was! She said she felt very embarrazed  and stupid.Lol!

This happens to many, very often and they tend to beat themselves thinking something is terribly wrong with them but It’s not true, they are still absolutely normal.

To all experiencing this symptom,I say it will go away just as it came and you are not ALONE.

Hello, Chy,

Memory Loss is quite relatable especially. I knew of a lot of women who kept looking for their eyeglasses only to find out they are already wearing it or its on they head worn like a headband.

Thank you for sharing this information with us. I love the assuring tone on your last sentence.

Lol! Thanks Karen for you contribution. When we know we beat ourselves less. Knowledge is key.

Hahaha. You’re welcome, dear. It’s a common “senior moment” in our country.

That’s true! Thanks again!

Hello Chy,
Thank you for this post. This is totally true. Memory loss happens to me all the time, even with the names of my our children and they are always laughing at me. What annoys me the most is I try to hide things and I end up forgetting where I have kept them.
This information is very vital especially as we grow older.
Have a blessed and prosperous 2020.

Hi Chy,

How are you? This is a great idea. Is the group open to all, or just in your area? I can totally relate to this. The problem is that if we are told by one person, several, or we see it online that it's a symptom of say, getting older, which I have seen by the way, that then it becomes a belief. Then, the challenge becomes to challenge the belief and replace with a more positive one, such as you have written, "that it will go away." What are your thoughts:-)

Hello Jill! I create the Teaching Group anywhere people ask for it. I teach and interact with members and we hang out and share experiences.
If you have willing women in yoir circle i can create one for you, and we add them teach and share experiences on line.

It wilk go away if we dont surrender to it.
We fight back by always engaging in mind juggling activities such as reading, analysing , do critical thinking and playing mind tasking games like: solving puzzles, etc.
