VIOLENCE AGAINST GIRLS

It is through the process of common life that individuals acquire the culture of their communities. Standards, values, behavior, beliefs, sayings, proverbs, comparisons, translation, etc are active means of passing on culture in Africa .We often use them to transfer customs to the young. But women are presented as inferiorto men, in addition with violence and discrimination. Each tribe, each custom has its standards and requirements: as for example with bashi, a DRC tribes, women were not allowed to eat chicken, eggs, the gizzard of a hen, the liver of a goat gizzard; milk, etc. They had no right to inherit or lead...With time she can now eat everything except the gizzard of any poultry. She is still victim of several violences she does not mention or report. • For example, let's follow the case of the small MAOMBI on this picture carrying her little brother on the back. Less than five years, she already has several responsibilities (fecth water, wash, cook, feed, in short taking care of children arround her...) while she also needs care and needs to be mentored and to grow. Therefore, we must fight against violences from the early age as they begin.
