Jorge Reyes: Jorge Reyes: “ Jorge Reyes is Peruvian and a lawyer. Jorge shares parenthood roles with his wife Yhara (Medical doctor) by finding a balance between the time they spend in their own careers (both are very career driven). Jorge quit one of his jobs in order to take care of the children while Yhara finished her thesis and got the degree of a Medical Surgeon. They currently have two children and both accommodate their work schedules so they both can provide the best care for their children and continue the development of their careers ” (1/4)

Ekpapalek Mujeres (Ekpapalek-Women) is an organization I founded as part of my championship as a UN Women Global champion for Women’s Economic Empowerment ( With a team of professionals women we aim to empower women in Latin America through talks and workshops that we bring to schools and organizations (

Also, through online campaigns, we promote awareness about gender equality. Hence, in order to open an honest discussion about the parenthood roles of mothers and fathers in LatinAmerica we decided to launch the campaign #LatinFamilies2016. With this campaign we aim to show a realistic visual representation of Latin-American parenthood in 2016. We collect pictures of fathers who enjoy great relationships with their children by spending more time with them and in turn we also show mothers that spend time working while parenting.

We think that these images must be accessible and easily disseminated so that everyone can get inspired. We would like to invite the invitation to all the community of World Pulse so please send us your photo and help us to show how Latino families (or families in your own country) are in 2016!

Here we share some examples (pictures and text below). You can also find more about our campaigns and initiatives at our Facebook page (

Great idea!  It's wonderful to encourage people to have good role models.  A child's destiny depends so much of how good their parents are treating them!

The best of success in your project!  Cheers,  Katalina
