Am a teacher by profession but fashion designer by passion. Am the founder of House of Cozack Self Help Group. House of Cozack Self Help Group is an afrocentric fashion hub that trains vulnerable young women and and young women living with disabilities ages between 18 - 30years in tailoring and hand made beaded ornaments and decorative house hold items. Being a teacher in a mixed secondary school in my community for 2years opened my eyes as i saw the rate at which the young girls were falling victims of teenage pregnancy while the others who completed school and didn't further studies due to unavoidable circumstances fell victims to prostitution as an easy way to sustain themselves and their families. Being located in malaba border with the massive traffic jam, the most thriving business is guest rooms. This alone puts the girl child at a highly risky position. That's where my social enterprise comes in. My passion for fashion in natural. I give them the opportunity to create ideas.
My vision is to see these young women in my community economically empowered and be in a position to sustain themselves and their families.
We are looking for partnerships in fashion houses and individuals, platforms for seed funding and mentors.
Our biggest character in House of Cozack Self Help Group is giving back to the community.DONATION IN KIND is our greatest spice.
