Corruption is Everywhere in My Country

I'm back in WORLD PULSE and I intend to stay this time.

I've finished my almost 4 years in Timor Leste and now I am back home in the Philippines doing mostly school work and some organizational support to local disability organization.

I am not very familiar with the Philippine political setting, my bad I know, but I am intent on knowing more about it now that I have time in my hand.

When I arrived early this year, the news was littered with stories of government officials - senators, congressmen and local government officials in cahoots with private individuals in corruption. Creating dummy NGO to launder money. Money intended for farmers and other legitimate programs. It created distrust to all NGO and legitimate organizations have to fight off stigma caused by this big time scandal -- we're talking about $200 M scam expanding to over several years.

All that were at the Cheels of the devastating Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) where many people lost their homes, displaced and dead.

Some people are just ruthless. No care for the welfare of others.

Like I said, I am home and I have time. Pretty sure I will discover a lot of interesting issues around social services in my country -- for people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups and a lot other things.
