finding peace

Today the snow has started falling, and I begin to remember all of the things that I love about winter.
There are little birds- chickadees, juncos, woodpeckers- at the window feeder, finding nourishment in the whipping wind and snow.
The house is cozy, and there is warm coffee in my cup. There are tracks- barely visible, and little drifts are beginning to pile up on the windowsill.

The air becomes quiet, and hushed, like insulation surrounding any thoughts that may want to disturb the perfect peacefulness.
