Introducing myself and my journal: True Nature

About Me:
I'm an author, speaker and co-founder of a women's program of personal growth and spirituality called Tending Your Inner Garden. Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, I now live in a rural area in Madison County, home of famous covered bridges and acres of corn. When I look out my office window, I see the lush trees and grass of this abundant place, and I'm abundantly grateful.

My upbringing was steady, safe and serene. But in my adult life, through travels to different parts of the world and my work with women, I've been witness to lives that are shadowed by war, violence, intimidation, hunger, poverty, poor sanitary conditions, sexual abuse...the list is far too long. At the same time, I've seen that when women come together and become champions for one another's lives, healing occurs. Our sense of community breeds clarity, strength, courage, and a willingness to act. And for every woman who heals, the world advances just that much more. I'm grateful for the spirit of women, and I'm honored to be part of this organization!
