'Personal is Political' is a core belief and both my personal and political lives are shaped by the values of justice, equity and dignity. My activism started at a very young age, influenced by the experiences of my community - extremely vulnerable socially, economically and politically in India. These experiences have built my ways of work, and given direction to my goals against all forms of oppression and violence, especially based on gender.
I started working towards this when I was merely 14, so have been engaged in social change work for over half my life. In these 17 years, I have worked with girls, youth, women, men, communities, local and state governments - through community organising, trainings, research, advocacy and mainly leadership-building. This work has won National and International Awards.
Change led by people affected by the problem is the best, most lasting change - and developing such grassroot leadership of the most vulnerable is my goal and expertise.
Women, girls and youth as grassroot leaders shall advocate and bring about gender justice in all aspects - social, economic and political.
