Mental Justice Planner Diary 2021

Earlier this year, we launched our bi-lingual Mental Justice Planner Diary 2021. With artwork, photos, quotes by our community and some extremely important messages for our mental health with social justice – in easy to understand, everyday language.

Mental Health literature in local languages is extremely hard to come by. Our aim is to reach ground level community workers and leaders, with literature on Mental health in simple language. The diary has messages in a mix of Marathi and simple English, and contains messages which can help all persons to have mental and emotional stability.

Our concept of  Mental Justice includes connecting stakeholders of every field to its vision, ensuring their commitment to every person’s mental dignity and empowerment. Anubhuti therefore distributed the diaries free of charge to all community youth, women and other important stakeholders like police, NT-DNT leaders, women leaders, Health workers, Sanitation workers, activists, academics and intellectuals. We also parcelled some diaries all over India to people whom we couldn’t reach physically.

“Just received a copy of Anubhuti Trust’s Mental Justice Planner 2021! I love the pictures and its use of both English and Marathi. I’m going to love going through it in more detail!” - Samira Nadkarni, teacher and journalist.

“आपल्या जीवनातील प्रत्येक क्षण योग्य मार्गाने जगण्यासाठी या नोंद वही चा वापर करण्यात येईल” (This diary shall be used for living each moment of our lives in a proper way) - a community leader.

“हॊ, डायरी च्या प्रत्येक पानावर रिऍलिस्टिक विचार आहेत… प्रॅक्टिकॅलिटी पुरेपूर भरली आहे… मज्जा येतेय रोज नव लिहिता लिहिता वाचायला..” (Every page of the diary has realistic thoughts.. it is filled with practical ideas.. I am enjoying to read something new everyday while writing in it!)  - an activist.

Hello Deepa,
It is so heartwarming to read this report on a mental health resource that is loved and even enjoyed and that people look forward to interacting with as they prioritize their mental health. I wish I could take a sneak peak because I know it took a lot of creativity to put together. Good on you and your team for this game-changer diary that will educate and help the community embrace mental health issues as part of daily living. It really is impressive. Good one!

Hi Deepa,
OOOH I just love this concept of mental justice! I never heard it phrased that way, and it is so powerful. I echo Nini - I love that it blends art and quotes too, creativity is a source of mental health and nourishment in my own life and for so many on here, and I also wish I could see this diary!! Thank you for sharing, and I look forward to hearing more about your work and journey to build mental justice in everyday lives.
