A Letter to My Mother

First story
Dear Mommy,
I miss you. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. When I look at your photos, I see myself in your eyes, smile and lively spirit. Now that I'm a grandmother, I wish you were here to share in my joy. My grandson is so amazing! I do know that you are guiding me with your infinite wisdom and love. I am eternally grateful.
Thank you for showing me what it means to be a woman. I've learned that I can be strong and independent, yet not compromise my femininity; that I can be nurturing and empathetic toward others and maintain my personal power.
Thank you for encouraging me to cultivate my individuality and creativity. I remember how you used your talent to serve others and to make ordinary things beautiful. I am emulating you through my teaching and continue to give to others as I have been given. I've learned well how to make others smile and how to make a a difference in the world.
Through you, I love unconditionally. It hasn't always been easy, but you taught me that if I love myself genuinely ... others will love me the same way. You may have had a broken heart, but never a broken spirit. You weathered the storm with elegance and grace and never looked back. You transformed what could be considered hopelessness to abundant possibilities. I respect and appreciate you for all the sacrifices you made for me. Now I have a legacy of love to pass on to my family. One that represents the heart of a woman who knows her worth.
On this special day, I celebrate you. I can face each day with the understanding that I am a loving, beautiful and exceptional woman.
My Love Always,
Dianne
