A New Revolution

It seems unimaginable today to exist in a world with no possibility to communicate to and with people online. I cannot even think of a day where I do not use social networks, blog or mail to construct my opinion on different issues, and share them with the rest of the web community.

Is it possible to say that the Internet has revolutionized our everyday lives? I feel it is just so. And mostly for the better. Although some say that it has played its part in creating some illusions about the people behind their writings on the web and maybe even driven real people further away from each other (since now their hangout places are virtual, like Google and Facebook, and not places in the real world), we can name strong examples how the Web did the exact opposite thing: it has brought people together, created joint ventures for achieving goals that, perhaps a little while ago, seemed impossible to do. This is what excites me mostly about the New Era we are witnessing.

For me, everything starts at this point and nothing seems impossible from the place our civilization is standing at. With new technologies being innovated, created and brought to a wider audience, no one can tell what the future brings. This especially stands for groups who, in the past, have been neglected, or even abused in different ways - women.

Just now as I write, a very big number of them is free to - just by using the Web - connect to other women, share their experiences, learn from each other, create bonds and work on creating better solutions and opportunities for themselves/ourselves and a brighter future. We can only imagine the ways this will benefit the generations of women coming after us. It's a synergy, possibly stronger than any other we have experienced before.

In my life, as I already said, using the Web is not only a tool or a way to speak out. It has become my thought channel, my voice, my hope for a better world. It has, in the end, brought me to this website and gave me the opportunity to write down in this journal. I embrace it, and will follow it through.

Like the wonderfully put message of this whole project says: NO ONE SPEAKS FOR ME. I SPEAK FOR MYSELF. :)
