Covid19 Pandemic, An Eye-Opener for the Digital World

The emergence of covid19 inspired me to start my NGO because of the eruption of gender-based violence in Nigeria every day many girls and boys are violated because of the lockdown and it frightens me that this might be a greater pandemic after the covid19. In regard to this, I have been creating a lot of awareness on gender-based violence via zoom and Instagram live. I have also been inviting guests from different parts of Africa to aid my awareness and to educate the general public. My experience has made me realize that, the  awareness is not reaching most of the people that is it meant for, I believe that something needs to done to make these categories of people have access to the resources that can help them and also make the abusers realize that he or she can't go freely without being punished.  Many people are far from the resources that can help them, especially during this covid19 pandemic. Most of the women and girls that need support are off the internet. This is a call for the provision of internet for them, we are going to era of an internet world.

Last Sunday, I did a zoom program for people with disabilities, according to them there is a lot of exclusion going on among them during this covid19, most of them don't have access to health care anymore and most of them have lost the sources of their income. I want my  advocacy voice to be louder and I also want to go beyond the internet because it's surely not getting to where it's really needs to  and apart from the Internet, physical presence is also needed, just need to observe the covid19 rules.
