VOF Week 4: Achieving My Dreams

My personal vison for my life, is to inspire as many people as possible, and to develop a deep, real and truthful community whereby my truth inspires people to come out of their hiding places and show their real face. I have had a vision since I was nine years old of speaking to large crowds of people, and in my undergraduate days, I found the power of the voice could move people, when I won a speaker of the year at a university that had over 35,000 students in it. This was part of the fulfillment of my dreams, but I am not satisfied with my life and won't be unitl that particular vision has been fulfilled.

As for the world, I see a new world of hope and the culmination of a new evolutionary being, whereby the spirit and the the body will once again function as one, and we will become more evolved and higher functioning beings that live through the more feminine aspects of our being, whereby nurturing in stead of destruction will be our number one priority.

Being a correspondondent, will give me the necessary training and empowerment I need to make my dreams come, true. I have needed, wanted and desired mentoring in this area all my life, so it would be the fulfillment of a much desired dream. Not since, my work on the African American Women's Conference that was an inspiring conference for women's empowerment in spirituality and culture have I felt so connected to women since joining this forum, and it would give me the opportunity to engage some of my future plans for conference work in this area. I am already being inspired to create a women's support group in Uganda, for women to come togther in a support group to support our creative efforts. Being encouraged to speak my voice here, has alerted me to the need to do more.

I always find your posts uplifting and giving the feeling that we can and will change things. That is a gift and should be encouraged to grow and strengthen. I so admire woman who can go and speak in front of other people since the thought makes my knees weak! I mean, I would do it if I had to but would much prefer writing as my 'voice' so admire the woman who can do this. Speaker of the Year, that must have felt so good and inspired you further and I am glad it did since now you are here with me and giving me courage and strength to practice talking more instead of just writing.

If I can learn to be a good speaker anyone can trust me. I went from a shy, nervous speaker to a confident speaker in less than three months with shere determination. My first speech, I received a C- on it but ended up changing my major to speech communications and graduating with honors in it. So, if I can anyone, can, it just takes practice and determination.Thank you for the encouragement. I am looking for more opportunities to use it, as I do feel it is the gift I have been given to inspire.

It is difficult to imagine that you were once a shy speaker as you know speak/write with such authority and confidence. I am so happy for you that you have progressed to phase two of VOF and wish you all the very best. Lives will be transformed because of your vision and dreams, and I am glad that we have provided one more platform for you to be heard. Best wishes...
