The Fear of Change

A few months ago I was looking for information connected to women rights. I was not informed about this matter. Surfing through the internet I found many organizations dealing with women rights and gender equality. The power and strength of women all around the world had a great influence on me. I wanted to join. Then I found the WORLD PULSE site. I liked the whole idea of the site. It was interesting to read the stories and articles of women across the world.
I noticed the call for the “Voice of Our Future Correspondent”. The idea of raising my voice in this community made me join. Then my journey started. For the first time I wrote an article. I was scared of the reactions of the members to my assignment. Because of my insecurity I was thinking about quitting the whole project. But something made me go on. “I accepted the fear as part of my life, above all the fear of change... I walk ahead, although my heart beats and says: “Come back”(Words of Erica Jong).

The “Week Two Assignment” was in my inbox. There were so many things I wanted to write about. I posted my assignment. I received so many encouraging E-mails. I was crying of happiness. My voice was heard. I knew that this journey would be pleasant, but I did not know it would be filled with positive and powerful feelings. I was inspired by the stories of other women. They gave me strength to struggle to make the women of Serbia raise their voices. I wanted to inspired them to write and to share their experiences.

If we do not speak up for ourselves no one will know that we even exist. My dream is to encourage the women of my country to connect with the World Pulse which would provide them a network of women across the world. Through this site they can get a platform to exchange their stories, as well as all sorts of information. As I said already, I recognized the WORLD PULSE as a gate for a journey without visas.
