One step backwards in the worlds political arena

Dear Madam Clinton,

We are proud of you, for challenging a man who bragged about getting away with sexual assault, for flying high the flag of women in the world. You spoke from your heart as every woman would have done; you showed the world that if a woman takes charge the universe will be a better place.it is only pathetic that some Americans could not see what majority of women in the world saw in you. Women in my country Sierra Leone were in strong solidarity with you for so many reasons. One, your wining would have been a major stride to us, moving from the point where we are now to better position.

Secondly it would have been an inspiration for women in politics who are been trampled upon. In my country, men always say women are not organized and are not in the right position to lead. But why not give us the 30% quota we are asking for? The few women in position of trust are they not proving they are capable? These are questions women in my country are asking and would have been answered if you won the elections. Another thing I taught about was who can be a better president than a woman? For so long men have occupied presidential position and the world is still struggling with issues of gender equality, sexual gender base violence, teenage pregnancy. Deep down in my heart I know only women in decision making position will change the world’s problem.

I know your government would have involved people in every decision, because youwere promoting democracy and that showed in your campaign. But we want to assure you that we will continue to push for more space for women. we will not keep quiet on issues bothering women but will make all the effort to change the norms of women taking the back sit and observe.
